Our Story

Where it all began.... 

In 2018, Connor suffered an injury at school, that resulted in a severe concussion. In saying that, he was already in the midst of recovery from an earlier head injury sustained prior in BMX event. Fast forward and our little big man was on an adventure, time out at home. During this time we had to find something that he could do that didn’t involve any vigorous activity, or watching tv / technology etc. That proved to be a more difficult than I thought.

We both love scented candles, so we went shopping. Connor was very specific about what he wanted; Candles with boy scents, not the "smelly girl perfume one's". Our man candle hunt in stores, hit a dead end. The frustration of not been able to find one scented man candle on shelves, bought about Candles By Connor. The rest is history.

Perhaps, but not for us. There are two things that Connor puts a lot of time into....Making stuff and his bikes. We live in a mountain biking mecca, so riding tracks & trails is just part of the lifestyle. When it comes to armour, we've tried them all. All were great but one brand stood out from the rest.... We wanted one piece of kit that provided full padding on the torso, was light weight and easy to put on and remove.

The S1 Protection jacket gave us all that, so we could finally do away with the separate elbow pads, kidney protection and top. We're lucky we're able to make these jackets available for purchase here in New Zealand. Check out our 'Thrill Seekers" collection in products for more information.

Secondly, to use my 20+ years of service & sales experience to drive sales, manage the marketing and batch testing.

As the batch testing is done through my private sports massage practice, every scent in our range, has received third party feedback and the thumbs up from real-time customers.
